Richard is widely regarded as one of the UK’s top guitar coaches. His career has spanned over 30 years, working with names like the BBC, Amy Winehouse Foundation, Crystal Palace FC, Ipswich Town FC, and even consulting for Gibson Guitars UK.

He’s taught at top institutions including Essex Musicians Centre (9 years) and Orwell Park School (5 years), while also creating the world-renowned 28 ROCKSTAR guitar course. A versatile musician, Richard has performed everywhere from London’s Earl’s Court Arena to international festival stages, and has released five acclaimed solo albums — including a US Top 10.

At Ipswich Guitar School, Richard blends his global experience into a unique coaching system designed to fast-track progress. His students range from complete beginners to household names from Game of Thrones, Star Wars and The Walking Dead.

Billy Tourney-Godfrey

Billy has been playing guitar for 15 years and has been playing live with original bands in the Ipswich area for the last 10 years. Since 2019 he has been playing at weddings and parties around the country with The Three Buskateers and also recording, editing and producing music for local artists.

Most of his love for music was directed at rock, metal and punk bands, but after diving head first into the world of blues and alternative music in 2014 he hasn’t looked back and has found an individual style that means his playing mixed with his attitude means he is an asset to any band he plays with. His love for teaching is built from the joy he gets when watching students achieve personal goals, whether it is learning their first chord or playing in a band for the first time.

With a rich background spanning 16 years, Jamie is a dedicated guitar teacher proficient in both acoustic and electric guitar. Initially playing fingerstyle acoustic and classical guitar, Jamie later embraced the electric guitar, influenced by the soulful sounds of blues, rock, and funk. As an active performer in a local band, Jamie brings a wealth of real-world experience and passion to every lesson. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to hone your skills, Jamie is committed to guiding you on your musical journey.
